My new creations, which involve only water and color:
editorial watercolor illustrations for magazines and newspaper articles.
As I mentioned in the post about editorial illustrations in my prevoius posts:
These days editorial illustrations extended beyond the world of politics or cartoons as it was in previous years. Now, online newspapers and magazines like to utilize artist’s creativity and supply their articles with colorful editorial illustrations (and quite often the watercolor illustrations are leading in comparison with digital or acrylic illustrations) in order to highlight a conceptual element to engage readers fully into the information that article is delivering.

I let my imagination go wild and created many splashes of watercolors, including strong and beautiful words:

I guess, I just followed my LOVE & PASSION to paint in watercolor with the believe that my watercolor editorial illustrations for sure will engage the readers of magazines and newspapers; that they would invite the readers into a written word, supplied with splashes of watercolor silhouettes.

And for seasonal type of editorial illustrations, I’ve welcomed fall into my watercolors:

I’ve also created two cute trees that indicate the Beginning of Fall:

By now I have three special galleries that are devoted to editorial choices:

All three of these galleries contain creative artworks from abstract to detailed realism to add a lot to an article or a blog post.

One of my paintings from Vivid Abstract Vibrant Sensation series has been selected to accompany Fall Collection of Sandbar Boutique LLC, an online retailer of fine women’s clothing, jewelry and accessories (http://www.sandbarboutique.com). The creative team of the boutique chose this painting because it was perfectly resembling the burst of hues of a great season.

I believe it is looking pretty good for a background on the boutique’s website:
Also, I would like to point out that this particular abstract was already presented in my own so to speak boutique in RedBubble Art Shop .
The light sleeveless dress looks vibrant and cheerful in this color theme:
So is more dressy outfit that is good for any occasion from the office wear to a party dress:

Needless to say, the silky scarf with this Vivid Abstract is presenting a great pattern when it comes to the large area such 55″x 55″ dynamic burst of colors:

I love how the pattern looks on the mini-skirt as well. So trendy! So bright!

But my personal favorite is a woman chiffon top that undoubtedly is the winner of my Vivid Abstract Vibrant Sensation collection!

Something Expanded And Something Shrunk – Welcoming Fall In My Studio

Impressionism in Watercolor
Just before a busy weekend I wanted to loosen-up and paint something pretty large, bright, fast and pretty.. I took as the suggestion my mini-artwork of the Fall Landscape (see the previous post HERE
And instead of 1″x1.5″ I made a painting 18″x24″
So the expansion was something like that:
A small forest grew into a large one in the matter of minutes.

Meantime, I had quite meticulous work coming-up this weekend; and, many more hours to paint.

My friend artist and I met in my studio for a painting session. I’ve set up a few still life objects and we grabbed the brushes. All of a sudden, with us two, with at least three still life sets and two puppies on the floor my studio SHRUNK!!!
And for the next 10 hours on Saturday, and good 5 hours on Sunday, we had to watch where to step in order not to crash into something or somebody.
But it was fun! Though the time flew by too quickly.

My friend Vera completed her beautiful still life in acrylic:
9″x12″ Still Life by Vera Lysenko

I started a larger still life, and will need to work on it for at least 10 more hours.
So far the fragment is done:
Realism in Watercolor by Irina Sztukowski
Stay tuned, the whole thing is coming soon :0)

It is interesting how things are turning in my life.
While I was chatting online about visiting Tyrus Wong exhibition at Disney Family Museum, and teaching the guests how to paint dramatic skies by wet-on-wet technique (in the previous post) ; something from the past came to my Inbox.

My friend sent me photos of the miniatures that I’ve painted almost 20 years ago… I’ve looked at them and recognized the Tyrus Wong style of painting..

Hm.. maybe, I looked into the future when I painted these two little pieces back in Russia?

Who knows!

But, speaking about my friend’s e-mail, the timing was just right! :0)
