It is always great to see my watercolors on the packaging design:
The most exciting part that I had to paint the muesli one great after another as well in watercolors 🙂
Painting Hemp Leaf watercolour illustration for my clients for packaging design of edible products:
The fun process of painting watercolor food illustrations for Packaging is certainly to see the final result of my own creations on the shelves of the stores. Each time I look at this particular Good Night Tea box I remember how I remember painting those purple flowers. Usually, I use professional quality Winsor & Newton watercolour paints. Two stores I get those tubes either Dick Blick or Cheap Joe’s online. And, again, these watercolors or Daniel Smith Watercolors are my first choice. However, I realized that all the professional watercolors are too good of a quality for those purple impressionistic approach flowers. I needed some opaque colors, something that has less pigment and more whites in it. My eye stopped at a children set that I have for paining (testing) coloring books with, and that was to my own surprise exactly what I needed in that case. I painted those watercolour flowers for food packaging design project with Artist’s Loft Watercolor Set for Kids from Michael’s Store; and, it worked just great! I am so happy with the results. Yes, sometimes artist has to come out from the comfort zone and do what needs to be done for the watercolor commission project to satisfy the customer! 🙂

Yes, finding artist illustrator for a commission project is not a difficult task for a potential customer. Negotiation of the contract is also quite common and goes quickly. Yet to complete the project and have both party be satisfied is the most difficult part especially when the artist is classically trained. I noticed that sometimes I need to call a Child from within in order to create fresh art pieces.
