It is interesting how things are turning in my life.
While I was chatting online about visiting Tyrus Wong exhibition at Disney Family Museum, and teaching the guests how to paint dramatic skies by wet-on-wet technique (in the previous post) ; something from the past came to my Inbox.

My friend sent me photos of the miniatures that I’ve painted almost 20 years ago… I’ve looked at them and recognized the Tyrus Wong style of painting..

Hm.. maybe, I looked into the future when I painted these two little pieces back in Russia?

Who knows!

But, speaking about my friend’s e-mail, the timing was just right! :0)

Above is a little flyer about a new Art Show. My artist-friend Vera Lysenko and I decided to paint a series of painting depicting Russia. San Francisco has a big Russian community and these series of paintings will be enjoyed by a lot of people.

I’ve made 12 miniatures and divided them into three groups.

Fist group shows the city where I was born, the great Saint Petersburg:
Travel Series
The next group is showing Four Seasons. Yes, there are all four in Russia even though sometimes it feels like half year of Winter:
Russian Landscape
Last group of miniatures shows one of the famous cathedrals,
The Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood. I used to live 5 min walk from this gorgeous historical monument:

Saint Petersburg Cathedral
This coming Saturday I’ll be in San Francisco for the Art Show  reception and I’ll give a demo on how to paint cute greeting cards using wet-on-dry technique and basic watercolors

4601 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, California
(2:00pm – 3:30pm)

Needless to say, that everyone who can come is welcome!

Miniature Bed and A Book Of Noble Character
by Carolyne Swayze at the author’s home.
It is quite amazing in how many different ways the Inspiration can burst a Creativity! After Carolyne Swayze, the author of the book, which inspired me to paint, purchased the art (see the previous post Red Rose) she decided to create a miniature bed with a little book Of Noble Character
I was in AWE when I saw this creation: just look at the bed, and the book, ah! I wish she had a website for those miniatures. I am crazy about them. I was actually thinking of painting a miniature artwork for Doll Houses one day. Once I’ve even did for the little house that I’ve created (see the post

The Smallest Lilac in The World

This little house with original masterpiece was given to my niece for last Christmas:

The multi-leveled inspiration is spectacular. Now I am convinced to paint miniatures in the near future.
Yep, Miss Inspiration goes round and round My Friends :0)

My 2.5″x3.5″ miniature rose became a Queen of the Ball last weekend. I decided to open a blog on how to make creative things and the first project there was a magnet making one. There is a glass square involved and I thought it was interesting to place the glass over the painting that is featuring the glass.

You can see how it went by visiting my new baby-blog: www.ArtGiftsFromIrina.blogspot.com

If you would like you can let your friends who have kids or friends who are interested in making cute stuff themselves to visit that blog once in a while. I am planning on posting different handmade projects there 🙂 .
