Watercolour Illustration Strawberry Realistic Technique by Irina Sztukowski

Realistic Watercolor Painting Of Strawberry: Cut, Whole, Flower, Leaves

I painted this realistic style watercolors of strawberries bunch: whole berry, cut in half berry, strawberry flower and leaves; for my clients packaging labels for a strawberry jam.

This realistic approach is created by using a combination technique: wet-on-wet washes with wet-on-dry layers and at the end dry-brush technique.

The applied shadows allow a 3D effect feeling to whole painting.

The highlights on the strawberry were reserved spaces of the white paper, yet the flower was painted with light glaze of ultramarine blue with warm overtones of yellow.

In preparation for another exiting yogurt flavor for the International customer; I am painting lots of spices in watercolor these days. It was fun to paint cinnamon for the Apple Strudel label. Now it is time to explore a perfect shape Star Anise spice, Cloves, and Coriander

The customer is already pleasantly surprised me with Elderberries flavor. It was fun painting the bunch of flowers in full bloom.

And you will be definitely surprised to learn the next flavor that contains some if not all the spices above 🙂

What I like in the Artist’s job that when it requires me to paint food illustrations in watercolor, I have chance to explore the beauty of the Nature while painting fruits, berries, vegetables, and now even spices.

December has already a very good start for my artist and illustrator career. Besides of the fact that I was blessed with so many sales to my Art Collectors and appreciators on my website www.artirina.com; I also just had one more creative project that was cooking in my studio.
I am wrapping up a new label illustration for Ham Glaze for one famous Irish Company Ballymaloe.
Right before holiday season started, I was contacted by designers from Greenhouse.ie and I was offered this exciting job.

The history of Ballymaloe company goes back to the beginning of 20th century. The company produces sauces, relishes, glazes; you name it!
They even have a cooking school, Ballymaloe Cookery School, that they opened more than 30 years ago.

I was honored to create the ham illustration for their new Ham Glaze.
The production label is still in progress; but, to get a little idea, it will look something like that, warm and yummy 🙂

I love making illustrations for food, such berries, fruits, and vegetables. Making one for Ham was twisting my artist’s mind a little; but, following the ideas that the customer wanted to place on paper, I made it happen.
