A Little Bit of Nostalgia – Daffodil Paintings

book, botanical, coloring book, daffodil, floral, flower, original watercolor paintings, park, Still Life, Watercolor, yellow

Every time I see daffodils they remind me a little suns that shine from inside. They also remind me of my grandma who grew daffodils in our summer house. Each summer she would bring huge bouquet of daffodils to the city and share with our neighbors. In our beautiful, 300 year old city where grass or trees are only in the parks; those tiny flowers were the gifts from beyond. The smell was astonishing. I can remember it when writing this right now. Very good memories!

Since then I’ve painted daffodils many times; and, I believe I progressed quite a bit in painting manner and technique:

And recently, several daffodils from miniature to a full size ones were included in my new Coloring Book – Botanical Flowers , Volume I:

Botanical Flowers Drawings and Paintings – Coloring Book Journey

book, botanical flowers, coloring book, drawing, floral, flower, ink, Masha Batkova, paintings
Creating a book, even a black and white coloring one, is a tedious process. One has to learn a lot of interesting things along the way such publishing structure, various computer programs to bring the art into electronic form and to bring a book to life.
As the book that I am working on with the artist  Maria Batkova is about botanical flowers, we’ve researched antique botanical paintings in the library archive.
We are testing every piece of art that we create, coloring it with pencils, watercolors, and markers; and, even framing the pieces to see how they will look in the home interior decor.

Today, I found an interesting video from Getty Museum educational channel. It is how in old days the manuscripts were made. Very interesting process. I feel so relieved now that I have computer and all the luxuries of 21st Century.

But I was also up to a little surprise there. Some of the clients bought many pieces, such for example merchandise, with my art on them.

I have a blast seeing my artwork in an interior decor settings. This time I want to present how simple and really great different artwork style can decorate an interior of a dining room to either complement or highlight the spirit of the dining room area.

These flowing abstract paintings that I created practically in one day, add a cool sense and ply so well with the blue of the table settings:

I love how these mysterious lines like a waterfall of blue, turquoise and purple hues bring to the interior of the dining room so much fluid beauty:

And speaking vintage, these three paintings of Garlic and Olives, Lemon and Ginger, and Sunflowers Bouquet are created in Old Masters Dutch Still Life style and add so much beauty to a classical room interior decor:

I am posting some of the festive designs that I recently painted.

I call this style Botanical Impressionism.
Created in the fast manner with the colors right out of the tube simple flower arrangement such the one with Iris Flowers and The Tulip Bunch look great in cooler colors surrounding.

On another hand, warm Poppies and Roses Bouquet are calling for neutral beige colors helping these flowers to “pop-up”:

Watercolor floral designs
The above paintings appear more as botanical art when framed in the vintage style white wooden frames.
Yet, when printed on a stretch canvas, they start obtaining more Impressionistic qualities.
Good examples would be these

Art That Sells. Bestsellers Of The Month

art that sells, bestsellers, bestselling, floral, Irina, landscape, sold art, Still Life, Sztukowski, what sells
art that sells bestseller of the month
My followers often ask me which paintings ( e.g what format or what themes) are selling the best. They are also interested if I have mostly sold art locally or internationally.

To explain all of that I decided to share just a few sales of the first months of this year. I will try to analyse what art is preferred by the local public; and, what art mostly goes to international art collectors. Though, it is quite random. For example, the Iris painting above was sold quite a bit, and geography of the sales is from Florida to California in the US, to Abu Dabi (Arab Emirats) the art collector who bought this artwork of Iris on the stretched canvas this February for example.

Another International Art Collector purchased this bestselling artwork of Inspiration Point, Orinda CA in January of this year:

I am glad that our local beauty is now exposed in the house of Auckland city in New Zealand!

Although, the local Art Collectors of mine, specifically from California ( towns: West Hills, Sunnyvalle, and Dana Point) made me very happy purchasing the following bestselling watercolors:

bestselling artwork

Poppy Field – Elongated Format Painting

art that sells
Red Poppy Field – decorative landscape painting.

Most of my customers were purchasing landscape paintings from my Landscape Gallery. However, some still life bestselling paintings were not left behind.
For example my famous Blueberry artwork that became last year bestseller Number One in many departments such Licensing Art, Art Collections, Jam Labels illustrations and more, found its home this time in Nashville, TN:
art that sells bestseller watercolor
And another bestselling still life of mine, Two Pears, went to a new home in Goodyear, AZ:
art that sells
The Art Collector purchased this artwork on the stretched canvas. And, coincidentally, the original was also painted on watercolor canvas as well. I am glad the realistic approach and the Old Masters style is appreciated by my customers.

I am also so happy that the floral compositions became bestselling artworks in those two months.
For example a simple bouquet of Ranunculus flowers was sold to the customer from Renton, state of Washington:
bestselling art that sells
Three Roses Bouquet watercolor was appreciated by the Art Collector from Lubbock, Texas and became bestseller in January:
art that sells bestseller of the month

And another floral painting bestseller, one of my favorite by the way, the Rose Painting, was sold to the Art Collector from West Palm Beach, Florida:

art that sells
But because I sell art not only from my website www.artirina.com but through some other venues, such for example ImageKind or RedBubble; sometimes I don’t even know what bestselling art went to what customer. But I am still happy that artworks of mine find a good home. At least I know what art sells there the best.
RedBubble for example established a super new bestseller, the Ruby Slippers. Just in the last few months it was sold more than several dozens of times:

art that sells bestselling painting

And ImageKind really started selling lots of bicycles. These few are my favorite bestsellers for example:

bestselling art ImageKind artwork that sells
art that sells bestselling watercolor
So speaking of the art that sells I guess the answer is that any artwork can become bestselling when the artist works hard and puts it out to the world. The World will appreciate it, and the art collectors will find you.  I am certainly grateful that my customers do 🙂
