Watercolor Cover Journal – Evening In Paris

cover, Eiffel Tower, Evening in Paris, France, French, journal, journaling, Paris, planner, planning, self help, watecolour, Watercolor
I have designed a new Journal for people who believe that a written note is a powerful tool in gaining peace of mind and confidence. There are 160 pages. The pages are lined and have intricate ink design that I first painted by hand and then applied to every page using publishing tools.
I’ve selected one of my favorite watercolor paintings: Evening In Paris for a cover of this journal. Two girls walking towards the Eiffel Tower symbolize a friendship and traveling: two things that I cherish and adore (not mentioning the dogs of course ;)…

This Evening In Paris Journal is available HERE

Eiffel Tower – Sunny Day In Paris

travel sketch of Paris France
I have painted Eiffel Tower many many times. It is easy to prove this statement just by showing my France Gallery , which has more than five dozens paintings and design with Eiffel Tower and streets of Paris by now.
But this time it was a special treat for me to paint the famous Eiffel Tower in person, as French say tete-a-tete (e.g. in person) and in el plein-air style (as the same French say) practically meaning that I was sitting there and painting Eiffel Tower from that particular spot.
Last month I was traveling to three wonderful countries for inspirational business trip. France was one of them.
Lucky for me the day I was painting was more like a Summer day as if Paris greeted me with a beautiful sunlight and gorgeous shadows well suitable for a nice watercolor painting.
I was surprised to find a street that led to Eiffel Tower, but no tourists were there. Only block of the buildings was separating me with the crowd gathering around and under the tower, and here I am in almost solitude making a first drawing in this beautiful city of Paris breathing in a summer like spring day enjoying every moment.
It was wonderful experience!
Truly artistic one, when you don’t notice nor occasional person passing by, no time flying. I’ve only noticed that couple of hours evaporated quickly by looking at the shadows that changed drastically. Good thing I took an initial photograph of the place and was able to finish the paining in the hotel room, in my mini-art-studio that I improvised right there.

Even though I brought my travel palette with me on the trip; I couldn’t resist the temptation when passing by an old Charvin Art Shop on Seine river embankment. This company produces watercolor handmade paints since 1830. Just to think that famous impressionists were painting Eiffel Tower and Paris streets with watercolor of this company, created a strong desire for me to get one of travel boxes with French watercolors. That was the best souvenir I could bring from France: a handmade watercolors in the box, and painted with these watercolors Eiffel Tower, the Eiffel Tower that fit my suitcase!! 🙂

Valentine Flowers And Hearts

The Valentine’s month is in full bloom and I prepared a few designs that are very appropriate for such sweet season.

This year, I decided to make the hearts with the flowers and merge flowers with hearts, romantic things and places.

In the designs above and below, the flowers are forming the heart, just like in old days, the artists made their vintage cards with floral decor.
Watercolor card
Then, I imagined a trip to Paris and placed bicycle and roses next to the Eiffel Tower, one of the most romantic places in Europe:
France painting
I also added a few hearts and pink roses into a vintage style design, where romance and floating Paris letters are creating a beautiful dance manifesting the Love and wonderful feelings:

And speaking of dance, I’ve added a lovely romantic design with ballerina silhouettes, and hidden rose heart.
This artwork actually became the beginning of my new series Waltz Of The Flowers (which I am going to share on my blog soon):

Art That Liked To Find A Good Home

It is becoming a great tradition to post some pictures from my customers with framed artworks placed in their environment. Sometimes they send me a photo, and sometime I take photo before sending the artwork. Each year I select a dozen or so to present in the blog post.

Above painting is from the customer that ordered commission artwork with the Iris Flowers for her husband. The painting is now proudly hanging in Avinger, Texas.

One local customer from Martinez, California got the painting of Garlic And Olive right from the walls of my solo artshow in the historical downtown:

Another lucky art collector chose to purchase painting from the same art show, the Old Barn of Eugene O’Neil in Danville, California:

A client from Oakland, California decorated his office space with the painting of Lake Tahoe:

My dear art collector that keeps decorating her house in San Leandro, California with my artworks purchased these beach Summary paintings and sent me the photos in the interior:

A customer from Overland Park, Kansas will decorate her remodeled house with this paining of a Garden Rose:

And one customer from Spanaway of Washington state selected the painting of Japanese Tea Garden from my San Francisco plein-air painting collection:

Yet one San Francisco customer decided to decorate his restaurant with my original painting of Paris street with Eiffel Tower view:

But not only originals are popular these days.

My dear art collector and long time art appreciator from American Canyon, California purchased the painting of Carmel By The Sea in print format and selected this framing option, which I liked very much:

International art collector from Brussels, Belgium wanted to invite home a print of my abstract painting of Waterfall:

An original commission painting of Eiffel Tower traveled to Vancouver, Canada to find a new home in my customer’s dining room:

Interesting framing choice of my art appreciator from Russia, who sent me this photograph:

Another international art collector invited a painting-print of my artwork of Orchid to her house in Cuneo, Italy:

The blog post length is not enough to post all paintings and framing choices that I wished; but, I thank ALL my customers and collectors for appreciating my art!!!

Eiffel Tower – Walking The Dog in Paris

art by Irina, best painting of Eiffel Tower, Eiffel, Eiffel Tower, Eiffel tower painting, evening Paris, realism, romanticism, Tower, Watercolor
Two Girls Walking Dog in Paris watercolor
How many times one artist can paint the Eiffel Tower and Paris skies?
I did a lot; but, I’ve never gotten tired of doing that!
Once I painted the Eiffel Tower with a lady walking towards it.

The art collector from Covington, LA is a happy owner now. The previous post of creation is HERE
Another painting of the tower is now in San Francisco:

I posted a story HERE
It is proudly hanging with another painting that has the Eiffel Tower in it too.
Evening In Paris.

A mysterious story of this painting is HERE
By the way, this Evening In Paris painting was selected by an independent site www.Famous101.com as one of the Best Paintings of the Eiffel Tower, which makes me so so proud :0) (the article is HERE)
And just a few years ago, one of my art collectors ordered a commission to give to her dear friend the painting of the Eiffel Tower as a wedding gift:

The story of creation is HERE
And last month the same international client wanted a similar painting for herself, for her new house. The request though was that I put not only two ladies walking there, but as well her favorite dog.
So, I fearlessly grubbed my brushes and started creating.
After approval of the sketches:

The work in progress has began:

Washes after washes, the skies got their wind and clouds; the Lady Tower got her lace-look dress; and, the girls with a happy dog started walking towards the setting sun:

The complete painting is now is obtained by my art collector from Ontario, Canada.
The question I have in my head now: would I paint the Eiffel Tower ever again? And I believe the answer is: absolutely YES! Each time I paint, I feel that I go again visiting Paris, walking to the Tower, watching the evening Paris skies, and have fun!

Pardon "Mon" French

abstract, design, Eiffel Tower, French Curve, girl portrait, Hallmark, Home Decor, interior decor, Painting, purple, style, Sztukowski, Watercolor, yellow
decorative design
One day I was feeling like creating some abstract in yellow and purple (two complementary colors that can balance each other very well). The idea didn’t have to wait too long to come. My inspiration that day was right at my desk in the studio: a bunch of French Curves

French Curve is a special tool that artists and drafters use to create a curvy line. I love the shape of the french curve for the soft organic forms, which when applied together can create an interesting whimsical design.

And that how the above artworks got created, not mentioning the next ones:
watercolor
and the next:
French Curve Yellow Purple
All of those and many other French Curve creations landed in my Decorative Design gallery on FAA.

But my “feeling French” mood didn’t stop at just an abstract artwork. I’ve decided to combine two of my favorite “French” paintings into one, creating a cute Hallmark style design..

And Vuola! I am happy to present:

I thought that the portrait of a little girl, a daughter of my friend (whose mom, by the way, came to the U.S. from France); this girl would look very nice with the Eiffel Tower on the back and those fluffy purple clouds.

Recently opened Cafe Coco  invited me to show my large artworks there:

I don’t think I’d ever be tired of painting the Eiffel Tower. Each time I do it, I find new intricate nuances. This time I made The Tower almost weightless, floating in the orange purple dramatic skies of Paris.

Eiffel Tower – Phase V and VI

apricot blossom, art studio Irina, commission, Dramatic Sky, Eiffel Tower, Fine Art, first place, France, French, gift, Irina's art, Painting, Paris, Spring, Uncategorized, watercolor by Irina, yahoo groups
The stage V and VI of the painting look as if I was rebuilding The Eiffel Tower from the top gradually grounding the construction, isn’t it.. In the stage V, I started placing the details high above moving slowly to the bottom in order to give the weight and to see the contrast.
Stage VI is the most enjoyable as the tower starts looking almost completed; yet, still there is a lot of work to do. One would say, it is done, just work on the figures a little; but, I think I cared away with the lacy look of the Eiffel Tower. I caught myself while painting that I felt being in Paris that exact moment, physically! Great feeling, eh. And it’s not too expensive way to travel ;0)
And here is one more highlight from my artistic journey: the painting Apricot Blossoms won the First Place in May theme  SPRING in Yahoo Group.

Eiffel Tower – Phase III and IV

Dramatic Sky, Eiffel Tower, France, historical building, night, Paris, realism, step by step painting, Watercolor, watercolor Paris
These two Phases of building The Eiffel Tower are pretty much self-explanatory. The skies got more dramatic, the fist beam is painted on the tower. It still looks as a dream floating in the air, but nobody can say it is something other than The Eiffel Tower. A few brush strokes are enough to distinguish a silhouette. The figures are only drawn in pencil yet the negative space around helps us to recognize two young girls engaged in conversation.

Stay tuned: tomorrow will be more Eiffel Tower built on my blog :0)
