acrylic painting by Irina Sztukowski
Even though here in California, Spring is slowly moving into Summer, and many trees already dropped their blossoms while teeny tiny fruits are forming on their branches, I am still in awe with Spring Blossoms at their peak of the season.

This artwork of Cherry Blossoms is created with acrylic paint. I wanted to show how another of my favorite water medium works greatly revealing fine texture of the paint on paper:

And recently, looking at my artwork from the bird’s view point, I’ve noticed that purple is becoming one of my favorite color. I’ve created so many artworks with this hue that I felt that there is a need to collect them into a separate gallery.
I called this Art Gallery –
It has paintings from abstract to realism with all shades of purple color from sweet gentle lilac to deep violets:

Purple artwork fit interior decor so organically. They bring great deal of light and air into a room interior:

It is becoming a great tradition to post some pictures from my customers with artworks framed in their environment.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and I am very happy to thank all my art collectors who not only purchased my art, but sent me photos of the framed art pieces.

Here are just a few of them from this wonderful and productive year.

One of my great customers from Albuquerque, New Mexico ordered this commission painting of Ranunculus Flowers for her mom:
watercolor still life
Art collector and long time customer of mine from Alamo, California, framed this humorous painting Bee Happy for her friend. She also had one of my Fall paintings Still Life With Pumpkin on a wall renting it for last year Thanksgiving dinner:
watercolor realism

My dear art collector from Floral Park, New York, framed this White Jasmine painting in a cute intricate silver frame that gave a great feeling of continuation of the Silver-like mellow background of the painting:

I love how my art collector from American Canyon, California, placed painting of A Fashion Girl with white background into a light mat but separated it with complimenting color blue trim:

One of my new customers from Poca City, Oklahoma, chose exclusively colorful and cheerful mats for my Roses In The Blue Vase painting:

Art collector from Elk Grove, California, converted her bedroom in a magic garden decorating her house with my prints and original paintings:

New customer from Livingston, Alabama, chose my first two paintings of Seashells Collection for her living room:

Many thanks to the winner-customer of this year from Brentwood, California, for purchasing many large paintings for his private collection:
Tulips
I am glad that they all found a great wall to hang on and now they are bringing the joy, the beauty, and their stories to a nice family and its guests.

As I have my paintings sold in the form of prints on Fine Art America, most of the times I have no communication with the customers. Yet one great customer from Malaysia contacted me through FAA, purchased the prints, had them framed, and sent  me a lovely pictures of the artworks ready to be hung on the wall of the new house:
Golden Gate Bridge California
As I pointed out at the beginning, it was productive year. It was great to paint commission pieces as well as the artworks of my choice. Also, I had a chance and honor to participate in Parkinson Cure Gala and donated two paintings. One of them settled at the house of an art collector from Vancouver, WA:
Onion Peas Bellpepper Jalapegnos

Impressionism In Watercolor
Last weekend a group of CWA artists and a few of my close friends went to a lovely town at the Pacific ocean. This cute cozy place is called Carmel By The Sea.. a beautiful venue for painting, resting, and dining.

The morning started rough. We thought that it will be raining any minute. But the clouds passed by and only a few drops fell on our art works.
We even enjoyed a partial sun giving some mysterious shadows on the sand:

When painting this piece (above), I wanted to tell a little story (as I usually do with my art). I call it “All comes in pairs” …If you look carefully, you will see two trees, two sailboats, two birds.. but only one person waking down the pier.. I left the second person somewhat hidden; so that, the viewers can make up their own romantic story

The last painting I did was of my friend-artist Vera Lysenko, she was passionately creating a seascape with acrylic.
It is always fun to see the artist at work and wonder what is there on the canvas?

The artists gathered together after four hours of painting to see and discuss the artworks that they created:

Branch Blossom Birds
After visiting Tyrus Wong exhibition, and getting inspired; I’ve started the lesson with introducing wet-on-wet technique. Students of ages from 5 to 65 learned how to paint skies with watercolors.

To my surprise, at the beginning, I got more adults than children coming to the class (the Open Studio event is build when anyone can come at any time and jump in painting with the teacher)..

Later on, we got kids, who surprised me again, they were not afraid to try painting both projects: Sky in Style of Tyrus Wong and a Fall Theme.
Everyone had fun.
I have not noticed how quickly the tree hours of the lesson passed. We probably got between 40 – 50 young and not-so-young students happily learning new techniques painting with watercolor .. and some of them even went home with the greeting card made by themselves

San Francisco Bay
I painted this artwork on plein-air (outdoors) when the weather was changing rapidly. It was foggy in the morning. But then, the wind picked-up burning the fog, lifting it, and letting the sun shine and reveal the beauty of San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge.

Our CWA artists and their guests had a marvelous time. Somebody painted the lighthouse, others went to Rodeo Beach, and my friends and I picked the view of the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

Farmers Market Delight

citrus fruits paintings
In the last couple of years I’ve painted many artworks that are different form my usual approach. Yet they do have their own distinguished style so to speak:  when the main object (usually fruit or vegetable) is painted in realistic style with the shadow, but the background remains white.
Most of the paintings are sold: some through the art shows, others are through the Jam Labels project, and the several of them were sold off an auction.
Last week I looked at the images of those paintings on my computer and wanted to bring all of them together in one series Farmers Market Delight.
I’ve paired them by style, color and composition. And here they are. For example, all four paintings above Apple, Lemon, Orange, Pear were painted on Aquabord. It was fun to explore the quality of the board vs artistic paper
( my previous post on Aquabord testing is here; and another study is here )

The next group of the paintings was representing some sweet, some hot, some red, some purple veggies (though, technically, tomato would be considered a berry and pineapple a fruit).
I just loved the combination of colors there and the details of these realistic paintings:

sweet pea jalapeno painting

onions and jalapeno
Here are a few previous posts on these above paintings:

Then, I looked at some other paintings; and, a few fruits found a company in this sweet colorful quartet:

fruits berries paintings
My previous posts about jam labels and others are here:
And last but not least I picked four of my probably best watercolor paintings of berries so far and combined them by color and composition into a Very Very Berry collage:
berry watercolor paintings
I love those four because each of them have a story to tell; and, they did take quite a bit of time to paint due to many details. I also loved that each of them have not only berries, but leaves of the plant and a flower as if they say: “We do grow in the garden or on a farm, and we are grown with love from a tiny tiny flower to a gorgeous sweet berry!”
A few previous posts on these paintings are here:
Combining different paintings in one fruitful project was fun. The dance of colors and diversity of the species is that what makes those collages to say:
Farmers Market Delight!!

These days I get a lot of requests from the customers if they can purchase electronic versions of my art. The opportunity just recently opened its doors.
