Trip To Italy

boat, buildings, Flowers, Italy, mountains, original art, Positano, rocks, See shore, ship

I have never been to Italy; but my friend has. She took this beautiful picture of small Italian town called Positano. This town was noticed by John Steinbeck in 1953 who wrote: “It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”
I loved to paint the rocky walls and small buildings clinging to each other so close that you barely can see the streets in between.

  1. Irina, what a beautiful piece! My son actually thought it was Monaco. I would LOVE to visit Italy with my family some day.

Composistion: very nice on the format and I like how you've positioned the elements to draw the eye in toward the city.

  2. Brava Irina, complimenti, hai saputo riprodurre fedelmente un pezzo della Costiera Amalfitana che è uno dei posti più belli e pittoreschi del mio paese!

    ciao

  3. Dear Irina,
Beautiful and how sensitive work!! Stunning! I really love the composition and colors. Could be a time consuming work…take care, Irina.
    Kind regards, Sadami

  4. I'd love to go to Italy one of these days. You know, there's a great Italian restaurant in NYCity called Positano. It's small, and decorated with an Italian feel. The food was wonderful and so is your painting.

  5. Absolutely gorgeous, Irina! I have some vacation photos of Sorrento that have a similar feel and I have painted a few (I like yours better)- you did a wonderful job with the huge view!

  6. Positano looks like such an interesting town to visit. Beautiful painting Irina. The flowers are wonderful overlooking the water…well done!
