Plain Air

Uncategorized

Just a small sketch of the see shore.. I almost forgot how it is different to get out of your studio and sit under the sun painting with the people wondering around and picking at your work…I wrapped it pretty fast as you see. That day I made two sketches; this the first one. The story starts in Monterey on my birthday day.. stay tuned!

  1. Dear Irina,
Ah, so lovely work!! Yes, sketching needs a strong nerve. I'm working on the sketch of a cathedral…in rain. But today, a good bonus. A church's college teacher invited me to demonstrate the work for her students. Anyway, happy, happy birthday to you~~!!
    Best wishes,
    Sadami

  2. Happy birthday Irina!

I think that people who wonder around the work could distract you, but I prefer them much more than mosquitoes… 🙂
    Very nice sketch!
I wish you all the best.

  3. Actually my birthday was few month ago. This sketch I made on my birthday, brought it home thinking to finish it in my studio later. But like it happens all the time, something we plan never will happen. Today I looked at this sketch and thought it looks lovely just like it is. I am sure if I started “finishing” it the fresh look would be gone…
